Internet – a blessing or a curse?
The Internet, like television and computer games, could be addictive. After some time we create our own virtual world and become afraid of direct contact with someone because we will be unaccustomed to it. We change our perception of interpersonal relationships in general, feel deep inability to make friends in real life. Moreover, we are fond of intimacy and anonymity which are guaranteed online. Those ensure a feeling of safety, no one can see the things we do not want to reveal about ourselves. Thus, a person loses his connection with real world. Besides, thanks to the Internet chat rooms where we can meet new acquaintances, strike up new friendships or even find our boyfriend or girlfriend. It enables us to stay in touch with friends. All in all, the Internet has its advantages and disadvantages, but in my opinion the hazards it brings outweigh its benefits. Personally, I use the Internet only when I need it for my work or studies. I do not believe that I can find everything in the Internet, but all in all there are many vital information.
